Big Mountain

The Big Mountian Team members must be comfortable skiing all areas of Bogus Basin. Training is focused on continued skill development, based on the judged criteria for IFSA Big Mtn. competitions, becoming more versatile skiers/riders and emphasizing the importance of developing mountain awareness skills and respect for the mountain, while having fun.

Bogus Basin season passes are not included and must be purchased from Bogus Basin.

Licensing - is required to participate in Big Mountain Competitions. Big Mountain licensing is with IFSA (International Free Skiers Association)

Each competition, camp, and/or travel for training has a separate cost that is in addition to tuition/team fees. Trip fees are due prior to the event. Parents are still responsible for trips/coaches fees when canceling participating less than 5 days prior to the event (after the trip has been invoiced.)

Athlete travel is arranged by parents or guardians. The team typically arrives a day early to the competition venue to give the athletes time to inspect and ski the competition venue.

Athlete Safety

U.S. Ski and Snowboard and the U.S. Center for SafeSport provide many free resources for parents who want to educate themselves and their children on Athlete Safety.

As an example, parents are encouraged to complete the Parent’s Guide to Misconduct in Sports. We also encourage parents to take an age-appropriate SafeSport course from the menu below with their children.
