BBSEF Home Teams
Home Teams on Snow Training:  BBSEF home team programs run for twelve weeks starting mid-December 1-day per week – You choose Saturday or Sunday, and that is your day for the season. Training is from 9:30 am – 3:30 pm with a one-hour unsupervised lunch from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm. Basic skills required to participate in Mitey Mites and Devo Team The ability to stop on their own * put on their own ski equipment * load and ride the lift alone.
The Mitey Mite program is an introductory program designed for ages 6 & 7 (U8) with basic skiing skills.  Our focus is on having fun while learning new skills that will develop a great all-around skier. Mitey Mite members are taught skiing fundamentals according to their age and ability. Mitey Mites spend most of their time learning by free skiing with experienced coaches. We keep skiing and learning FUN! You may choose either the basic Saturday or Sunday program. Program Fees $525.00 
Development Team (also referred to as Devo or D-Team): Is for ages 8 and older who love to ski.  This team is where kids develop solid, all-mountain skiing technique in multiple disciplines. Our goal is to develop well rounded all mountain skiers with a passion for the sport, skiing all types of terrain and building confidence. We introduce young skiers to a fundamental skiing progression applying both alpine and freeski technical skills. Athletes will choose either Saturday or Sunday as the day their training day for the season. Program Fees $585.00freeski technical skills. Freeski Home Team: Is for ages 9 and older who love to ski. With enthusiastic encouragement from coaches, participants will explore the entire mountain; skiing the trees, hitting jumps and riding the terrain park to create a rewarding experience while working on fundamental skiing skills. Participants may choose the basic Saturday or Sunday program. Program Fees are $585.00

Snowboard Home Team: Is for ages 9 and older with one-two seasons experience riding. This team is where kids develop solid, all-mountain riding and are introduced to freestyle skills.  Athletes will train on Saturday and have the option to add Wednesday evenings.  Participants compete in three BBSEF coaches cup slopestyle competitions that focus on fun and camaraderie Program fees $585.00

Race to Ride Team - Is a two-day (Saturday & Sunday) program for those ages 8 and over that want to train for both ski racing and freeskiing. Members will train one day with the Alpine Development Team and one day with Freeski Home Team. Program Fees $960.00

All BBSEF programs are based out of the Jason Harper Training Center located between the Pioneer Lodge (upper) and the Bitterroot chairlift.

BBSEF Travel Team Programs

Freeski Prep Team: Is for ages 11(younger with coaches recommendation) and older who love to ski. This team is for those with a desire to ski all types of terrain. Participants will be skiing the steeps and trees around the mountain and hitting the jumps and rails in the terrain park. This program’s primary focus is to create a training atmosphere that is fun, challenging, and relevant to the current and future potential of the athlete. Freeski PrepTeam members may compete in events at Bogus Basin, Tamarack & Brundage. The Freeski Prep Team will not compete in the BBSEF Coaches Cup Series (home team events). Prep team does not have access to BBSEF vans for travel to competition Video training is also provided. North Series Team – Is designed for ages 9 and up (8 with coach’s recommendation). This program’s primary focus is to create a training atmosphere that is fun and challenging.  Developing and refining and fundamentals skills to ensure our athletes are prepared when moving on to the next competitive team with the BBSEF progression. North Series members compete in the North Series races held within the Intermountain Division (Idaho – Utah – Wyoming). These races are qualifiers for the IMD Championships at the end of the season. The North Series Team will not compete is the BBSEF Coaches Cup Series (home team events). Timing and video are also provided. Training runs mid-December – mid-March. Program Fees $1400.00

Snowboard Prep Team: Is for ages 9 (younger with coaches recommendation) and older who love to Ride. This team is for aspiring snowboarders that are interested in developing terrain park and big mountain skills. The goal for Prep athletes is to gain experience and build confidence in a fun, creative and motivating setting. Athletes will train Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday nights. Thursday nights may be added for an additional fee.  Dryland training is recommended, especially for athletes not enrolled in a fall sport. Participants are encouraged to compete in USASA Idaho Mountain Freeride series and/or Intermountain IFSA Junior events at Bogus Basin, Brundage, and Tamarack. The Snowboard Prep Team will not compete in the BBSEF Coaches Cup Series (home team events). Prep team does not have access to BBSEF vans for travel to competitions. Video training is also provided.  Program fees include Christmas camp, MLK and Presidents(transportation not included) Program Fees - $1,400 (3 days) or $1,900 (4 days).

Freeski Comp Team : Is for ages 14 and older who love to ski. Skiing is a lifelong sport, there is always more to learn.   Whether your sights are on making the USASA Nationals, USSA Freeskiing team or overcoming a fear of trying a new trick. Skiing technique is always evolving and the concepts and skills we discuss and demonstrate with the athletes are a constant work in progress. Coaches will help athletes in a team atmosphere, building enthusiasm and support providing athletes with the opportunity to soar to success! Video training is provided. Transportation to training on weekdays, Christmas Camp, and Competitions is included (no weekend vans).  Program fees include vans for weekday training and travel to events Christmas camp, MLK and Presidents day Program Fees- $2,900 (5 days).  

Snowboard Competition Team: Is for ages 14 and older who are strong snowboarders with a well rounded intermediate to advanced riding ability.  Athletes will train on both natural and man-made features while focusing on developing their own personal riding style.  This is a goal-oriented program for motivated riders who want to train for local, regional and national competitions.  Athletes will train Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Dryland training is highly recommended.  Participants are encouraged to compete in both USASA Idaho Mountain Freeride and Big Mountain series, and/or Intermountain IFSA Junior events.  Program fees include vans for weekday training and travel to events Christmas camp, MLK and Presidents day Program Fees- $2,900 (5 days).

Alpine Competition Teams “ACT” (U14, U16, U18/FIS) – Are designed for athletes (age 12 and older); these programs are focused on alpine race skiing development. Athletes in this program train four-five days per week and compete throughout the Intermountain Division of the USSA.  Athletes U16 & older travel to races with coaches and team members. A USSA Competitor License is required for ACT athletes. Please visit www.USSA.org to register for this license.

The U14 Alpine Team is a seasonal program designed to continue the age appropriate development of our athletes. This is the age range when the winter commitment moves to 4 days per week, along with a more robust competition calendar from the North Series group. Athletes on the U14 team will have the opportunity to see new places, meet new teams, and expand their friend base to include athletes from all over the Intermountain West. 2nd year U14 Athletes may have the option to travel in vans with the team and coaches to specific IMD competitions (2002 YOB and older). Program Fees $1900.00

The U16/U19 Intermountain Cup Team emphasis is on the technical and tactical aspects of all mountain skiing and alpine racing. At this level, the winter commitment moves to 5 days per week. We consider it an accomplishment for our athletes to train and compete at this level, and the rewards extend well beyond athletic achievement. These athletes compete in Intermountain Cup divisional and USSA regional events. Program Fees $2900.00

The U21 FIS/PG Team The emphasis is on the technical and tactical aspects of skiing and racing. The winter commitment is 5 days per week.  We consider it a major accomplishment for our athletes to train and compete at this level, and the rewards extend well beyond athletic achievement. These athletes compete in USSA & FIS regional events.  Program Fees $3000.00
