Equipment Guide

All Teams- Bogus Basin Season Pass (not included in BBSEF team fees)

Mighty Mite/Devo Team – 

  • Winter jacket: We encourage you to purchase the team jacket.
  • Snow pants, Base layer
  • One pair of skis, preferably all mountain skis
  • Ski poles that are the right size
  • Boots that fit and that are age appropriate
  • A proper ski helmet that fits
  • Goggles, gloves and neck gator
  • Sunscreen that can be permanently located in your child’s jacket.
  • A good backpack to transport all gear to and from the mountain.  


Freeski/Snowboard Team -

  • Winter jacket: We encourage you to purchase the team jacket.
  • Snow pants, Base layer
  • One pair of skis, preferably all mountain skis 
  • Snowboard for Snowboard team members..
  • Ski poles that are the right size (does not apply to snowboard)
  • Boots that fit and that are age appropriate
  • A proper ski/snowboard helmet that fits
  • Goggles, gloves and neck gator
  • Sunscreen that can be permanently located in your child’s jacket.
  • A good backpack to transport all gear to and from the mountain.  

North Series Team

  • Winter jacket: BBSEF team jacket required.
  • A speed suit  appropriate for Slalom and GS
  • Snow pants with side zips for removal on the hill
  • Base Layer
  • One-to-three pairs of skis: GS, Slalom and/or all mountain skis.
  • Ski tuning equipment that will allow you to maintain wax and tune your skis
  • Ski poles that are the right size. One pair for slalom with pole guards and one pair for GS and free skiing.
  • Shin guards that are the proper size
  • Optional equipment: Mouth guard, forearm guards, stealth body protector
  • One pair of ski boots that fit and that are age appropriate.
  • A proper ski helmet with hard ears that fits. This helmet should have a face guard that can be removed for free skiing
  • Goggles, gloves and neck gator
  • Sunscreen that can be permanently located in your child’s jacket.


U14 Team

  • Winter jacket: We encourage you to purchase the team jacket.
  • A speed suit that is appropriate for Slalom and GS and SG
  • Snow pants with side zips for removal on the hill, Base Layer
  • Two-three pairs of skis: GS, Slalom and all mountain skis. Optional: Training skis and speed skis for Super G.
  • Ski tuning equipment that will allow you to maintain wax and tune your skis
  • Ski poles that are the right size. One pair for slalom with pole guards and one pair for GS and free skiing.
  • Shin guards that are the proper size
  • Optional equipment: Mouth guard, forearm guards, stealth body protector, Back protector.
  • One pair of ski boots that are fit for ski racing with a good orthotic footbed and that are age/development appropriate. Optional: A pair of ski boots that are comfortable for free skiing. 
  • A FIS approved ski helmet with the FIS sticker required for GS, Super, G & Downhill. Optional second helmet for Slalom, this helmet should have a chin and mouth guard.  
  • Goggles with light and dark lenses, gloves and neck gator
  • Sunscreen that can be permanently located in your child’s jacket.
  • A good backpack to transport all gear to and from the mountain.
  • Ski bag and ski straps for all competition skis.


U16/U19 Team –

  • Winter jacket: We encourage you to purchase the team jacket.
  • A speed suit that is appropriate for Slalom and GS. Optional speed suit for Super G (no pads)
  • Snow pants with side zips for removal on the hill, Base Layer
  • Three pairs of skis: GS, Slalom and all mountain skis. Skis at this age, with few exceptions, should be adult skis that comply with USSA rules and standards for the appropriate age group. Recommended:  Training skis and speed skis for Super G.
  • Ski tuning equipment that will allow you to maintain wax and tune your skis
  • Ski poles that are the right size. One pair for slalom with pole guards and one pair for GS/Speed and free skiing.
  • Shin guards that are the proper size
  • Recommended equipment: Mouth guard, forearm guards, stealth body protector, back protector.

FIS and PG Team –

  • Winter jacket: We encourage you to purchase the team jacket.
  • A speed suit that is appropriate for Slalom and GS. Recommended: Speed suit for Super G (no pads)
  • Snow pants with side zips for removal on the hill, Base layer
  • Three pairs of skis: GS, Slalom and all mountain skis. Skis at this age, with few exceptions, should be FIS compliant adult skis that adhere to rules and standards for the appropriate age group. Recommended:  Training skis and speed skis for Super G.
  • Ski tuning equipment that will allow you to maintain wax and tune your skis
  • Ski poles that are the right size. One pair for slalom with pole guards and one pair for GS/Speed and free skiing.

Equipment Leasing and Pro Nights: For the younger athlete, our local ski shops offer leasing programs for the season. For the older, competition athlete, it is very beneficial to attend the “Pro Night” specifically for ski team at the shops to be able to order new equipment at discounted prices directly from the company reps. We will send out announcements as to when these events are coming up, as well as who is eligible to attend.
