Mountain Bike Team Coach Updates

August 22, 2022

Everyone,

Since temperatures are anticipated to be near or exceed 100 degrees today and Wednesday, we will not have practice this week.  Hopefully, the heat subsides soon, so we can get back on the bikes here in the valley.
Thanks,

Coach Lance

Everyone,

Due to the forecast for extreme temperatures, we will not be doing our regular Monday rides.  We will resume Monday practices as soon as the temps cool down.  We will however continue with our Thursday practice schedule at Bogus, but because the races are finished, we will push practice up to 5:30 and finish at 7:00 when the lifts shut down.

Thanks.

Coach Lance

Everyone,

Just a quick reminder there is no practice tonight.  Practice will be tomorrow at 6:00 at Bogus.  Also, practice for Monday will be at 6:00 at Camel's Back.  It is going to be warmer on Monday so bring plenty of water and be sure to hydrate prior to practice.

Thanks,

Coach Lance

Everyone,

I wanted to provide you with several updates.  Due to the volume of rain we received yesterday, we are cancelling today's practice.  Wednesday's practice will be at Camel's Back at 6:00.  On Monday, June 20th, we will practice at Eagle Bike Park at 6:00 PM.  Also, starting next week, we will be moving our Wednesday practices to Thursday's at Bogus Basin.  We will be doing lift served riding, so if you do not have a pass, please come prepared to purchase a pass at the ticket window.  For the Devo team, you will have two Thursday practices at Bogus prior to the official end of the season.  For the Travel team, this will be our regular schedule through the end of July; the week of August 1st we will return to our normal Monday/Wednesday schedule.

Below are the links to the local Enduro events that we have discussed.  The Tamarack Trail party will be a team event, with coaches available for pre-ride on Friday and a race day set up with food and beverages.  The Twisted Turtle events will not be team events, so you will need to be prepared to pre-ride and race on your own.  If you have any questions on these local events, please let me know.

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to the BBSEF Mountain Bike Team 2022 season.  We are excited to kick off another great year of riding.  We are going to change things up a little bit for this year and really focus on fundamentals for our first three practices.  Therefore, our first three practices will be at the Eagle Bike Park from 6:00-7:30 beginning on April 11th.  Then on April 20th, we will begin to transfer these skills to our regular rides in the Boise foothills, and later in the season, to Bogus for some lift-served fun.  For foothills practices, we will meet by the tennis courts at Camel’s Back Park on Heron Street.  As we progress, we will change practice locations up to include Military Reserve and Table Rock.  We may also mix in some rides at Avamor.  More details to come on that later, and we will always send out a communication if practices times or locations change.

Please note: The weather plays a role in our ability to practice, and it may be necessary to change or cancel a practice due to the weather.  We will try to make these same-day decisions no later than 3:00 PM on the day of practice.  Please be sure to check the BBSEF website for any updates on changes or cancellations.  Given the weather forecast for Monday and Tuesday of next week, we may experience this right out of the gates, so please be sure to check the website for any changes due to the weather for next week.  In the event we do have to cancel a practice next week, we will push back our foothills rides for the corresponding number of practices canceled, so we get our three days at Eagle Bike Park.

Thanks, and I look forward to seeing everyone on Monday.  If you have any questions, feel free to shoot me an email, lance@bbsef.org.
