Hello BBSEF Home Team Families,

Our Mitey Mite, Devo, All Mtn, and Snowboard Devo programs start training this weekend. Attached are group lists for this weekend. Below is the daily schedule. Saturday groups meet on Saturday, Dec 17. Sunday groups meet on Sunday, Dec 18.

Tips for a Great Day!

  • Give yourself plenty of time to get up the road, especially if it has snowed or is snowing.
  • Please make sure that your child is ready to ski, and double-check that ski passes, skis, poles, boots, helmets, gloves, ski pants, and jackets make it into the car before heading up.
  • Handwarmers on very cold days and on snowy days an extra pair of dry gloves for the afternoon session.
  • Make sure your child gets a good night's sleep and has a nutritious breakfast.
  • Please have your child use the restroom before meeting their groups in the morning and after lunch.

Christmas Camp registration will be sent once registration is open. The cost will be $50. per day. You may choose December 28th and/or 29th. The hours will be 9:30-3:15 (regular training hours) with a 45-minute parent-supervised lunch. There is no transportation available and space will be limited.

It has been brought to our attention that some members were not receiving our emails. We have worked with SkiClubPro to correct the issue. If you know a BBSEF member who is not receiving our emails, please direct them to WWW.BBSEF.org, where they may follow the instructions to remedy the issue.

Alpine Development Team U10+ (also referred to as Devo) is for ages 8 and older who love to ski.  Alpine Development (Devo) Team teaches basic all-mountain skiing skills and racing techniques with a strong FUNdamental emphasis. The Devo program is designed to introduce and refine the skills required to advance within BBSEF’s alpine and freeride programs. Coaches teach age-appropriate skill progression utilizing U.S. Ski & Snowboard’s Skills Quest training system consistent with BBSEF’s team-building philosophies.  

Ability
Participants must have one winter's skiing experience, must be able to stop on their own, should be able to put on their own ski equipment. Load and ride the lift alone.

Team Goals

·         Build confidence to ski all types of terrain.

·         Introduce young skiers to a fundamental skiing progression applying both alpine and freeskiing technical skills.

·         Introduce young skiers to the possibilities of snow sports competitions.

·         Create strong peer relationships/group dynamics.

·         Instill respect for people, places, and property 

Schedule
Groups ski together from 9:30a-3:15p on Saturday and/or Sunday. Lunch is parent-supervised from 12:00 pm-12:45 pm. Participants choose either Saturday or Sunday for the entire season. 

Competitions
Throughout the season athletes will participate in the Coaches Cup Series. This series is designed to expose Devo members to the different disciplines of skiing in a friendly competition environment.

Coaches Cup Series: BBSEF Home Team programs members (Mitey Mite, Devo Team, Freeski All-Mountain and Snowboard), participate in the Coaches Cup series. For Alpine athletes, this series includes a one-day Giant Slalom, a one-day Slalom and the Coaches Cup Finale which is a four-events (SL, GS, Jump, and Bear Paw Bash on the last two weekends of the program.  Awards will be given to 1st-5th, place in the Coaches Cup races with participant ribbons for all competitors.  We will present Coaches Cup Overall awards, on points awarded on results at each of the Coaches Cup competitions at our end-of-season banquet.

All BBSEF Teams Dryland Training
BBSEF all-teams dryland is an opportunity for all of our BBSEF teams to get together for an hour of fun outdoor activities, reacquaint ourselves with last season’s teammates and coaches and meet new teammates and coaches. Please dress for the weather and bring a water bottle.  Dates TBD.  Please visit the events calendar for dates.
