BBSEF Mountain Bike 2023 Registration is Open!
BBSEF Youth Ski & Snowboard registration for the 23.24 season will open in May 2023!
North Series Team – Is for ages 8 and up. North Series team features a training atmosphere that is team-oriented, fun and challenging. Teammates become good friends and we place a heavy emphasis on developing AND enjoying new skiing and racing skills.
Focus -- Athletes will be introduced to and will develop alpine skiing fundamentals, alpine ski racing skills and tactics (Slalom and Giant Slalom), traveling to ski races, mental and motor athletic skills, overall independence, and team and social skills. North Series Team’s primary focus is on U10 (8-9 years old) and U12 skiers (10-11 years old). The North Series Team programming is also designed for U14 and U16 skiers who are either less experienced with alpine ski racing or who prefer the lighter travel schedule the North Series offers.
Ability
Skiers must be comfortable skiing independently and in a variety of terrain and snow conditions. No alpine ski race experience is required.
Competition: North Series races are held in the Intermountain Division of the US Ski & Snowboard Association (IMD). The IMD includes Southern Idaho, Southwestern Wyoming and all of Utah. The North Series is composed of three two-day race weekends held at Jackson/Grand Targhee, Bogus Basin/McCall and Sun Valley. These races in the IMD North Series are qualifying events for U10 and U12 competitors to race in the IMD Championships held in mid-March and bring North Series competitors together to compete with qualifying U10/12 competitors from the IMD South Series races, which take place in Utah at the same time as the North Series races. U8 and U14/16 competitors, as well as U10/12 racers who do not qualify for the IMD Championships, have the option to compete in the IMD Finals races, which take place in Mid-late March.
Athletes travel with parents to all events. Travel competitions also carry an additional coaching fee in addition to team fees and will vary by event.
North Series athletes are required to purchase a U.S. Ski & Snowboard license in addition to base tuition fees.
