Snowboard Progression
The Progression team is a Saturday and Sunday program for ages 12-14.
Riders must be comfortable skiing all of Bogus Basin. The Progression teams train Saturday & Sunday from 9:00 am - 2:30 pm, with a parent-supervised lunch hour.
Athletes on this team should love to ride in the terrain park and riding POW when the conditions call for it. This team will focus on learning skills to hit jumps, rails, and other jib features. USASA is the competition series for the Slopestyle Park & Pipe programs.
Snowboard Travel Comp
This team is designed for older athletes who are serious about riding and competing in Snowboard Slopestyle and Park & Pipe Events. Athletes are expected to demonstrate sound decision-making in terrain parks, boarder/skier cross courses, and in rail-jam formats.
Coaches will work with athletes enabling athletes to identify and set goals. Developing a consistent set of tricks/skills used in competition and consistencyTeam training will build upon established fundamentals of slopestyle skills to prepare athletes for competition.
Athletes interested in joining the Big Snowboard Comp Team should discuss their participation with Freeride Head Coach ZachS@bbsef.org. Advanced riding experience is required for this program.
Progression Team Competitions
Participants may have the option of competing at one or two competitions held in the area (Tamarack, Brundage, etc..) Competitions carry an additional cost, not included in the team fees.
For Athletes 12yrs and older, travel to competitions is with and arranged by parents or guardians.
Each competition, camp, and/or travel for training has a separate cost that is in addition to tuition/team fees.
Snowboard Travel Team/Competitiions
For Athletes 12yrs and older, travel to competitions is with and arranged by parents or guardians.
Comp Team Athletes 14yrs and older may choose during registration to pay an additional fee to travel in the team van with coaches to competitions.
The team typically arrives a day early to the competition venue to give the athletes time to inspect and ski the competition venue. Comp team athletes should expect to participate in 3-6 competitions during the season with the goal of qualifying for championships or nationals a week-long competition at the end of March/early April. Each competition, camp, and/or travel for training has a separate cost that is in addition to tuition/team fees.
Athletes are expected to successfully manage time for training, travel, and schoolwork while maintaining at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA.

Licensing - is required to participate in Slopestyle Competitions. Slopestyle licensing is through USASA
Each competition, camp, and/or travel for training has a separate cost that is in addition to tuition/team fees. Trip fees are due prior to the event. Parents are still responsible for trips/coaches fees when canceling participating less than 5 days prior to the event (after the trip has been invoiced.)

- Athletes 14 yrs and older have the option to add on travel to competitions with the team.

Athlete Safety
U.S. Ski and Snowboard and the U.S. Center for SafeSport provide many free resources for parents who want to educate themselves and their children on Athlete Safety.
As an example, parents are encouraged to complete the Parent’s Guide to Misconduct in Sports. We also encourage parents to take an age-appropriate SafeSport course from the menu below with their children.
